Small group table activity beside the easel

Our preschool year follows the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage with the same 1:3 ratio that most nurseries only offer to under-twos. That means early phonics, mark making, numbers and shapes taught in groups of three, not thirteen, and time every day for the independence skills that make reception easier: toileting, eating, dressing, listening and following routines.

For children who will need support at school we start transition work early: visiting the school, sharing the individual plan, visual supports and, where needed, EHCP paperwork completed with you.

Questions parents ask

Which schools do your children move on to?

Local primary schools in Ealing, Hanwell and Southall, including those with additionally resourced provision, and specialist schools where that is right for the child. We work with the receiving school on the handover.

Are 3 and 4 year olds funded?

All 3 and 4 year olds get 15 universal hours and eligible working parents get 30. On a funded place our SEND Specialist Support Fee is £160 a week for 15 hours or £320 for 30.

Why is the fee higher for 3-year-olds?

Government funding assumes a 1:8 or 1:13 ratio for this age. We keep 1:3, so the specialist fee covers the extra staff.
