Our Curriculum
Our curriculum
Rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage, enhanced through therapeutic and sensory-based approaches.

At The Nurture Nest our curriculum is rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and designed to give children the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to become independent, curious and enthusiastic learners.
We believe young children learn best through play, exploration, relationships and real-life experiences. Our curriculum follows each child’s interests and individual stage of development, while creating opportunities to build new skills, develop confidence and make meaningful progress.
The seven areas of learning
Communication and language
Developing children’s ability to listen, understand, communicate and express themselves through conversation, stories, play and everyday experiences.
Personal, social and emotional development
Building confidence, independence, friendships and emotional understanding, helping children feel secure and ready to learn.
Physical development
Developing strength, coordination, balance and movement, alongside growing independence with everyday self-care.
Literacy
Building a love of books, stories, songs and rhymes while developing early phonics, mark-making and writing skills.
Mathematics
Developing children’s understanding of numbers, patterns, shapes, measures and problem-solving through playful, hands-on experiences.
Understanding the world
Encouraging children to explore and make sense of the world around them, discovering people, communities, nature, technology and their environment.
Expressive arts and design
Encouraging creativity, imagination and self-expression through art, music, movement, role play and a wide range of creative experiences.
